Breaking: Supreme Court Rejects Nwokocha’s Appeal In Dispute Against Senator Akobundu
The Supreme Court has rejected a motion for the review of the judgment filed by Darlington Nwokocha against the decision of the Appeal Court that removed him from his position as the Senator representing Abia Central district….CONTINUE READING....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Nwokocha had appealed to the Supreme Court to overturn the appellate court’s ruling and reinstate him as the Abia Central Senator. He argued that he had convincingly won the February 25 Senatorial election in Abia Central and contended that the reasons cited by the Appeal Court panel for his removal in November lacked justification.
However, on Tuesday, the Supreme Court dismissed the motion and imposed a two million naira fine on Nwokocha, payable to Senator Austin Akobundu.
This dismissal follows a similar outcome last week when the Abuja division of the Appeal Court rejected Nwokocha’s motion for a review of the judgment, imposing a five million naira fine on him and his Counsel, to be paid to Senator Austin Akobundu and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
In response to the development, Abraham Amah, the Vice Chairman/acting Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Abia, expressed that the judgment marked another victory for the PDP, Senator Austin Akobundu, the residents of Abia Central, and Nigerian democracy.
