Obi, who visited the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital where the bomb victims are being treated, commended the Kaduna State Government for their efforts to provide relief to the victims. While acknowledging the bravery of the nation’s military, he advised them to exercise increased caution and professionalism to prevent recurring accidents that have claimed numerous innocent lives.

During the visit, Obi expressed concern about the apparent misplacement of priorities by the federal government. He pointed out that attention is being diverted to non-essential issues while critical areas like security are neglected. He was particularly shocked by the remarks of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, indicating that budgetary allocations to the military are not consistently released on time.

In a statement released on his social media handle after the visit, Obi called on the Federal Government to ensure that expressions of support for security agencies translate into actionable measures. He emphasized the need to address the Chief of Defence Staff’s statement about irregular releases of statutory allocations to the military. Obi stressed the urgency of allocating resources to essential areas like security to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.

During his visit to Kaduna, Obi extended condolences to the affected families of the accidental bombing in Tudun Biri village and prayed for the swift recovery of those receiving treatment in the hospital. He commended the Kaduna State Government’s intervention for the victims and urged support for setting up a foundation to compensate affected families and educate orphaned children.

Obi reiterated the importance of caution in military operations, considering the high number of mishaps and casualties recorded since the war against insurgency began in 2009. He emphasized the need to prioritize critical and productive areas that benefit Nigerians and foster national development.

In conclusion, Obi restated his commitment to a New Nigeria and the importance of aligning resources with priorities for the nation’s development.
