Led by Alhassan Doguwa, the Northern House caucus announced its plan to visit the affected area to express condolences to affected families and survivors.
In a personally signed statement by the Kano lawmaker, the group condemned the incident and expressed their willingness to support the government in restoring normalcy to the region.
The Northern caucus has allocated N350 million for various developmental projects, encompassing healthcare facilities, classrooms, water boreholes, and a community town hall, as part of their contribution to the Federal Government’s efforts in rebuilding the community.
“The caucus has announced a monetary donation of Mr Speaker and that of the Northern regional caucus of the Federal House of Representatives amounting to the sum of N45m cash,” the statement revealed.
While commending the commitment of the Nigerian military and security agencies in combating insurgency, banditry, and criminal activities, the lawmakers decried the ongoing violent campaigns by bandits and other criminal elements nationwide.
In response to these unfortunate incidents, the caucus has resolved to pay a condolence visit to Tudun Biri on Monday, November 11, 2023, aiming to gather firsthand insights into the incident and gather information to prevent future occurrences.
The lawmakers acknowledged the prompt response of the Tinubu-led Federal Government to the victims and their welfare. They pledged to work with the government to ensure proper compensation for the victims, providing a legal framework for the compensation and ensuring that the families of the deceased are adequately included in the compensation scheme.
The caucus appealed to the affected community and its leaders to remain calm and law-abiding, expressing gratitude to the Government and Governor of Kaduna State for upholding their responsibility to maintain law and order in the state.
