During a press conference held in Lagos, the group conveyed its support for Mr. Alkali, emphasizing that his tenure as the Managing Director of NEDC has yielded significant positive results. The National Coordinator, Comrade Gbenga Fatai, conveyed the organization’s stance and asserted that accusations of corruption are groundless and stem from the imaginations of the accusers.
Mr. Fatai stated, “Following our 24 National Executive Committee meeting, members of the Bola Tinubu Grassroot Organisation have convened here in Lagos to express unwavering support for the Managing Director of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), amidst recent criticisms and accusations of corruption. Today, we aim to shed light on the commendable work done by the Managing Director and refute these unfounded allegations.”
Highlighting the strides made by NEDC since its formation, the group lamented baseless accusations aimed at tarnishing the Managing Director’s reputation. They emphasized the lack of substantial evidence for the corruption allegations, asserting that they are politically motivated to undermine the progress achieved by NEDC under his leadership.
The Bola Tinubu Grassroot Organisation underscored its solidarity with the Managing Director, urging the public to examine his impeccable track record. They commended the NEDC’s initiatives, such as infrastructure provision, healthcare services, and educational support, emphasizing the positive impact on the lives of people in the North East region.
