Nigerians React As Labour Party Condemns President Tinubu’s Dated Governance-Methods
Mr. Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), has criticized President Bola Tinubu for his “outmoded governance style,” pointing to the extensive delegation dispatched to the recent Climate Change conference in Dubai as evidence….CONTINUE READING....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Benin Lion Bar chapter award ceremony, Abure raised questions about the wisdom of sending 1,411 individuals to the conference, particularly in the context of the country’s precarious economic situation. He asserted:
“It is clear that President Tinubu’s government and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are unwilling to deviate from the circumstances that have previously plunged the nation into an economic quagmire.”
Abure further queried the justification for such a large delegation to the conference, especially considering the significant challenges facing the country:
“How can a nation grappling with borrowing money to pay workers’ wages, plagued by insecurity, battered by power collapse, and witnessing daily investor exits, squander such a colossal amount of resources on a frivolous venture?”
Drawing a comparison with wealthier nations, he remarked:
“A responsible government should have recognized that borrowing money to attend conferences, while richer nations sent fewer than twenty representatives, reflects insensitivity and blatant impunity.”
Abure expressed confidence in the Labour Party’s capacity to provide a superior alternative:
“Nigerians have communicated their stance, recognizing that the nation’s redemption lies with the Labour Party as we approach future elections.”
He dedicated the NBA award, presented to him by Justice Daniel Iyobosa Okungbowa, Chief Judge of Edo State, to the youth and the millions of Nigerians aspiring for a brighter future for the country.
