Until her retirement in 2022, Bello served with the NTA, leaving behind a notable legacy.
In a statement conveyed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu conveyed his condolences, characterizing Aisha Bello’s demise as a significant loss to the nation.
Tinubu fondly remembered her as a mentor who inspired numerous young women to embrace broadcasting with eloquence, passion, and integrity, both on and off the screen.
The statement read in part: “As the presenter of the flagship ‘NTA Network News at 9,’ her smile, warmth, and wisdom were eagerly anticipated by Nigerians and viewers worldwide as she delivered news that could be trusted objectively.
“She mentored many young women who took to broadcasting, mainly by watching and listening to her eloquence, passion, and integrity on the screen, in the newsroom, and off the screen.
“Her legacy in broadcast journalism lives on in the rich news archives she leaves behind and the contributions she made to the development of broadcasting in Nigeria. She brought news to life and will continue to be a beacon to inspire generations in the beautiful art of broadcasting,” remarked the president.
President Tinubu prayed for the repose of Aisha Bello’s soul and extended comfort to her bereaved loved ones.
