In a collaborative effort with a joint security team, Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State successfully prevented a terrorist attack on the Zakka community in Safana Local Government Area. According to Kaula-Mohammed, Governor Radda was in Safana to inaugurate an empowerment program sponsored by the Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Abduljalal Runka, when the intelligence report of the planned attack surfaced. Upon receiving the information, the governor promptly canceled his involvement in the program and joined the security personnel, including the Nigerian Police, Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji, Nigerian Army ground troops, and Community Watch Corps, to confront the terrorists at Zakka forest.

The statement highlighted the governor’s directive to provide urgent medical treatment to the rescued 33-year-old man, who sustained a gunshot wound during the bandit encounter. The security forces engaged the terrorists in a heavy gun battle lasting almost 30 minutes, thwarting their mission and compelling them to escape without incurring casualties.

He also approved an amendment extending the lifespan of the 2025 budget from March 31 to June 30, 2026, to ensure completion of ongoing capital projects nationwide.

Under the 2026 fiscal plan, ₦4.799 trillion is set aside for statutory transfers, ₦15.8 trillion for debt servicing, ₦15.4 trillion for recurrent spending, while ₦32.2 trillion goes to capital projects—about half of the total budget.
