While previous governors made efforts to improve the socio-economic situation, the current administration’s people-centered approach stands unmatched in Ogun’s 47-year history. Prince Abiodun’s leadership, characterized by intellectual resourcefulness and commitment to socio-economic emancipation, aligns with his “Iseya” mantra, focusing on development across geopolitical regions.
The 2024 Appropriation Bill underscores the governor’s determination to deliver more democratic dividends, strengthen the socio-economic and political strata, enhance accountability, and broaden opportunities for creativity and life-supporting endeavors. Approximately 62% of the budget targets grassroots development, with allocations to infrastructure (30%), education (16%), health (12%), and housing & community development (4%).
The proposed budget represents the most masses-focused plan, emphasizing poverty alleviation, job creation, security, power supply, agriculture, and commercial activities. Prince Abiodun’s objective for 2024 is to maintain and expand the economic base, ensuring shared prosperity through the “ISEYA” mantra. The total expenditure is set at N703.03 billion, covering recurrent (N287.37 billion) and capital (N415.66 billion) expenditures.
Capital projects for the fiscal year include infrastructure development, road construction, housing projects, and extending the Lagos Blue and Red Line Metro Rail Projects. The governor’s commitment to green energy solutions, electric vehicles, and CNG-fueled mass transit buses demonstrates his dedication to sustainable development.
Agricultural investments, improved transportation systems, and the completion of projects like the Gateway Agro-Cargo International Airport reflect the administration’s comprehensive approach. The digitalization drive, broadband coverage, and youth training for the emerging digital economy showcase Ogun State’s commitment to staying at the forefront of economic advancements.
Investments in regulatory measures, such as the PPP office, OgunInvest, and the BEC, highlight the government’s efforts to create an investment-friendly environment. Prince Abiodun’s vision and achievements position him as a selfless and forward-thinking leader, offering hope to Ogun State’s youth and contributing to Nigeria’s restoration.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
