In a statement signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, the faction announced that the sale of nomination forms will begin on April 27, 2026, and run until May 4, 2026.

It also fixed the price of the Presidential Expression of Interest and Nomination Form at ₦51 million for the 2027 elections.

According to the timetable, the presidential primary is scheduled to hold between Sunday, May 17 and Monday, May 18.

The statement further outlined the costs for other elective positions: House of Assembly aspirants will pay ₦3 million, House of Representatives ₦4 million, Senate ₦6 million, and governorship ₦21 million.

It added that female aspirants are required to pay only the Expression of Interest fee for their respective positions.

Bature said the guidelines were issued in line with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the 2026 Electoral Act, and the revised timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2027 general elections.

All six defendants pleaded not guilty to the 13-count charge filed against them during proceedings presided over by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik.

The accused include retired Major General Mohammed Ibrahim Gana and retired Naval Captain Erasmus Ochegobia Victor.

Others are Inspector Ahmed Ibrahim, Zekeri Umoru, Bukar Kashim Goni, and Abdulkadir Sani, an Islamic cleric based in Zaria, Kaduna State.

Following their plea, Justice Abdulmalik ordered an accelerated hearing of the case and fixed April 27 for the hearing of their bail applications.

Five of the defendants were brought to court by operatives of the State Security Service and were directed to remain in custody pending the outcome of their bail requests.

However, Abdulkadir Sani, who had previously been granted unconditional release by the court, appeared in court on his own.

The proceedings, which began at about 1:40 p.m., attracted significant attention as the high-profile trial commenced.

Turaki, a former Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, was arraigned before Justice Peter Kekemeke on a one-count charge of allegedly giving false information to the police.

The case, marked CR/647/2026 and filed by the Inspector-General of Police, accused him of submitting misleading information in a petition dated October 5, 2022.

The charge stated that he “gave false information to the Inspector-General of Police via a petition dated October 5, 2022,” an offence said to be punishable under Section 140 of the Penal Code Law.

Turaki pleaded not guilty when the charge was read in court.

His lawyer, Abulaziz Ibrahim (SAN), urged the court to grant bail, arguing that the allegation was bailable and highlighting Turaki’s status as a former minister and senior political figure.

However, the prosecution counsel, Usman Rabiu, opposed the application, alleging that the defendant had previously evaded service and failed to appear in court until he was declared wanted. He urged the court to deny bail or impose strict conditions.

Delivering ruling, Justice Kekemeke held that bail is a constitutional right and noted that Turaki had voluntarily appeared before the court. The judge further ruled that the prosecution failed to establish that he was a flight risk.

The court consequently granted him bail in the sum of ₦100 million with one surety in like sum.

The ruling specified that the surety must either be a Senior Advocate of Nigeria with at least 20 years of standing or a legal practitioner with a minimum of 40 years post-call experience.

The case was adjourned until June 11 for further hearing.
