The SDP claimed that political thugs hired by the opposition attacked the Secretary on Monday in Lokoja. According to a statement released on Tuesday by J.S. Okutepa SAN, the counsel to the SDP, the attack occurred while the Secretary was in possession of copies of the election petition filed on December 2, 2023, by the legal team of Alhaji Murtala Yakubu and the SDP.

In response, the APC swiftly dismissed the alleged attack as an attempt by the SDP to divert attention from their own undemocratic actions. Kingsley Fanwo, the Director of Media and Publicity of the APC campaign council, stated that the purported attack was a desperate move by the SDP and ethnic jingoists in Kogi State to portray the state as unsafe. Fanwo argued that the SDP orchestrated the supposed attack on the Tribunal Secretary, Mr. Mike David, to conceal their revealed plans of filing a petition against the November 11 election outside the allowed period under the Electoral Act.

Fanwo deemed the alleged attack as “concocted lies and a warped strategy” by the SDP, emphasizing that it occurred on the day their anti-democratic plan was exposed. He questioned the timing of the attack, why it wasn’t carried out before the midnight of December 3, 2023, when the 21-day window closed, and why the SDP was the first to be aware of the purported attack. Fanwo concluded that the public cannot be misled, and people are aware of the actual circumstances.

Now Or Never! Peter Obi Drops Bombshell: 2027 Could Be My Final Presidential Run!.

Published

on

During a recent interview on Nevon HQ, Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi indicated that the 2027 election might mark his final attempt at the presidency. Responding to a question from a secondary school student, the former Anambra Governor explained that his decision is heavily influenced by Nigeria’s political zoning system, which typically rotates power between the North and South. Obi noted that if he loses in 2027, the presidency could shift to the North in 2031, meaning power might not return to the South until he is nearly 78 years old—an age at which he does not intend to actively seek the office. While he acknowledged that political landscapes can shift, potentially leaving a narrow window for another run if power remains in the South, he emphasized that he is not banking on such a scenario.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Peter Obi has signaled that 2027 may be his last presidential campaign, citing the constraints of Nigeria’s zoning rotation.

  • Rotational Logic: Obi explained that the established pattern of rotating power between the North and South heavily dictates his political timeline.

  • Age Factor: He calculated that by the time power rotates back to the South after a potential Northern term in 2031, he would be approximately 78 years old, which he considers too old to pursue the presidency.

  • Finality: While he left a slight possibility open should the zoning dynamic change, he explicitly stated that 2027 is likely his final serious effort to attain the office.
