Speaking at the Open Day for Gardeners’ Seminar in Lagos, Osinbajo shared how his wife—who had long abandoned carbonated drinks for a healthier lifestyle—began experiencing persistent, unexplained headaches despite her daily routine of drinking freshly squeezed orange juice.

When conventional causes were ruled out, a laboratory analysis of the juice revealed a disturbing truth: the freshly prepared drink was entirely unfit for human consumption.

According to the former Vice President, laboratory tests uncovered dangerous chemical treatments used during farming and storage, including calcium carbide, gamma-lin-20 (a toxic substance), Sniper, and phosphite—a highly toxic fumigant.
