The disclosure was made by the state Commissioner for Budget, Aninu Hammayo, following the State Executive Council meeting on Wednesday. Hammayo explained that the budget was crafted based on assumptions of increased oil production capacity, leading to higher revenue from oil sales, and a rise in Value Added Tax.
He further elaborated, “All the MDAs were guided by these assumptions and working on the limits set by the budget envelopes. Submissions were made, collated, and presented today. The estimates amount to about N300 billion, with 58.8% allocated to expenditure and 41.2% for recurrent expenditure. This emphasizes the focus on expenditure, creating assets that can generate future revenues.”
Hammayo also emphasized that the budget estimates would be presented as a bill to the Bauchi State House of Assembly on Thursday.
