Breaking: Judicial Independence Emphasized-NNPP Leader Cautions President Bola Tinubu On Interference
Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a prominent figure in the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has counseled President Bola Tinubu against meddling in the affairs of the judiciary…CONTINUE READING....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

This advice comes in the wake of the Court of Appeal in Abuja recently annulling the victory of Kano State’s governor, Abba Yusuf, citing his non-membership in the political party.
Speaking on Tuesday, Oguntoyinbo, the NNPP chieftain and 2023 gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State, emphasized that Tinubu should refrain from intimidating the judiciary. In a statement released on Tuesday after expressing solidarity with Yusuf, Oguntoyinbo remarked, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not interfere with the functions of the judiciary but instead allow the judiciary to function effectively as expected in democratic governance.”
He cautioned against attempting to coerce the judiciary, emphasizing that Nigeria is not comparable to Lagos, where Tinubu allegedly transformed the state into a one-party system with limited opposition. Oguntoyinbo asserted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the President are overly eager to dominate all states in Nigeria, expressing concern that they might manipulate the judiciary to establish a one-party system.
Referring to former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s recent warning about the alleged plan of the ruling APC and President Tinubu to establish a one-party state, Oguntoyinbo concurred with Atiku’s sentiments. He urged other statesmen to rise and caution President Tinubu against turning the country into a situation resembling Lagos State, where he purportedly controls everything.
