The Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring that host communities receive maximum benefits from mining operations for both local and national economic development. He clarified that the CDA is a legal provision designed to facilitate the transfer of socio-economic benefits to mining host communities. It serves as a formal document outlining the obligations of the Mineral Title Holder (MTH) to the host community and vice versa.

The Minister underscored the significant impact of mineral resource mining on host communities, highlighting the necessity for these communities to be actively involved in the sector’s activities.
