The removal was executed by the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, following a resolution passed by the Osun State House of Assembly.

TOM, in its November state of the state address delivered by Executive Director Prof Wasiu Oyedokun Alli in Osogbo, called on Osun stakeholders to intervene swiftly, preventing a breakdown of constitutional order in the state.

The organization expressed concern that the Osun State House of Assembly seemed to be aligning itself with the executive, potentially jeopardizing the principles of legality. TOM emphasized the need for the Chief Judge’s removal to be overturned to uphold the rule of law and avoid transforming Osun State into a lawless entity.

The organization cautioned against potential unrest and highlighted information about plans to physically assault Justice Adepele Ojo, urging those involved to abandon such intentions. Additionally, TOM cautioned Justice Olayinka David Afolabi, the designated acting Chief Judge, against becoming a tool for undermining the judicial institution in the state.

Notably, the scheduled swearing-in of Justice David Olayinka Afolabi did not take place on the specified Friday.
