The protest, staged last week, accused Okocha of orchestrating the alleged abduction of two community members, Bobby Owhondah and Chamberlain Owhondah, who had traveled to Abuja to address a chieftaincy crisis.

Disassociating himself from the alleged abduction, Okocha challenged the protesters, led by Professor Reginald Amadi, to retract their allegations and apologize within 14 days. He asserted that the claims were an attempt to defame his character and emphasized that he was not a signatory to the police invitation related to the chieftaincy crisis.

Addressing the political situation in Rivers State, Okocha attributed the challenges to a breakdown in communication and agreements. Despite acknowledging the breach in agreements, he called for peace for the benefit of the people of Rivers State. Okocha emphasized the need for understanding in governance matters and expressed willingness to resolve the issues amicably.
