Speaking at the Chief of Defence Intelligence Annual Conference 2023 in Abuja, Ribadu acknowledged the severe budget constraints affecting the country but assured that the federal government is dedicated to maintaining a robust defense management and security apparatus.
Despite facing budgetary constraints, Ribadu expressed the administration’s commitment to meeting the armed forces’ requirements, emphasizing their efforts to address contemporary challenges. Commending the armed forces for their dedication and improvements, Ribadu urged unity and support for the security agencies.
In the face of recent coups in neighboring countries, Ribadu highlighted the importance of defense diplomacy and strategic engagements with allies for national security objectives. The Chief of Defence Intelligence, Maj Gen Emmanuel Undiandeye, affirmed the agency’s determination to utilize the defense attaché system for national security goals.
The conference, attended by key figures such as the Minister of Defence and Minister of State, addressed the nation’s security challenges and emphasized the need for continued support for the armed forces and security agencies.
