The court heard from Police Prosecutor Peter Joseph that Bitrus Dogara, the complainant, reported the incident to the Kafanchan Divisional Police Station on November 8. According to Joseph, the complainant had parked his motorcycle on the premises of the Kafanchan General Hospital, where it was subsequently stolen. The defendant, Joseph Sunday, was reportedly found in possession of the stolen motorcycle.
Upon the reading of the charges, Sunday pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor requested an adjournment to present his witnesses.
In his ruling, Presiding Judge George Gwani granted bail to the defendant in the amount of N35,000 and required a surety in the same sum. The case was adjourned until November 15 for further proceedings.
