Adesuyi, who represented IPAC on the committee tasked with distributing federal government-provided food items in Osun State, allegedly received 50 bags of rice but delivered only 35, retaining the remaining 15 bags. This led to an investigation by the council, resulting in his suspension.
In a statement jointly signed by Wale Adebayo and Tosin Odeyemi, the Chairman and Secretary of Osun IPAC, the suspension was imposed for six months to uphold accountability and transparency principles within the council. The decision aims to ensure that no member is exempt from the laws and regulations set by IPAC.
The statement noted that the suspension would be communicated to IPAC’s national body and other relevant authorities, including Adesuyi’s political party, Zenith Labour Party, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Nigerian Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC).
Adesuyi, who is also the Osun State Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), dismissed the suspension as a baseless media trial, asserting the allegations were false and unfounded. He emphasized that the 50 bags of rice were intended for Imole Collaborators and IPAC.
