Former Ogun State Governor Amosun Accomplishes Final Request Of Dedicated Follower
Former Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State fulfilled the final wish of his devoted supporter, 97-year-old Mrs. Taiwo Kosenatu Durojaiye, also known as Iya Londo. The nonagenarian, a staunch member of Amosun’s political camp, was laid to rest on Friday in Itoko, following a funeral service at St Emmanuel Anglican Church, Keesi, Abeokuta.
Amosun, speaking at the service, shared memories of his enduring friendship with Mrs. Durojaiye, dating back to 2001 when he entered politics. He praised her unwavering support throughout his political career and recounted how she consistently expressed her desire to have him oversee her funeral arrangements.

“Mama was not a transactional politician. I have known her since 2001 when I first joined politics. Mama Londo was a very steadfast woman. I am only repaying her loyalty and steadfastness. Anytime I have the opportunity of going to see her, she would always tell me, ‘anytime I die, my corpse is yours. Make sure you bury me,’ and I would say it’s not yet time,” Amosun remarked.
He continued, “Like three months ago, she still told me that the time was nearer. She said, ‘Please bury me; take charge of the funeral arrangements; you just must be there. My children should call you. Take my body to church and do everything.’ And that is why we are all here today. We will miss Iya Londo.”
In the sermon delivered by the vicar, Oluyinka Oke, the congregation was reminded of the inevitability of death and urged to turn towards God in reflection and devotion.
