Just In: Kogi State APC Governorship Candidate Urges Release Of Arrested Party Leaders, Denounces Involvement In Thuggery....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Usman Ododo, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, has appealed to security agencies to release the party’s prominent figures who were detained in Kogi East on Tuesday. Ododo emphasized that the arrested APC leaders were individuals of high moral character and had no apparent reason to partake in acts of thuggery or any other misconduct.

Furthermore, he expressed concern over the raids on their residences and the destruction of their property, acknowledging the distress it has caused within the party.

The incident in question involved political thugs, purportedly associated with the APC in the state, attacking the residence of Sheikh Ibrahim Jibrin, the Director-General of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Campaign Council, in Anyigba on Tuesday. This attack resulted in the tragic deaths of a police officer and four other individuals and subsequently led to the apprehension of some ruling party chieftains by security agencies.

In a video shared by Arise TV, the APC candidate addressed the matter and refuted the reported involvement of his party in the attack. He maintained that the incident was orchestrated by criminals unaffiliated with the APC.

Ododo called upon the security agencies to release the detained APC leaders, asserting that he neither condones nor associates with criminals or thugs. He stated, “I believe that when they are done with the investigation and none of them is found guilty, they will be released. I have been invited severally by the security agencies, and I always honor their invitations. I don’t breed criminals, I don’t breed thugs, and I don’t have one. But as it is now, for the security agencies to be harassing our members without a cause, I call on them to release our members and focus on addressing the criminals who went on to kill one of our members.”
