Breaking: Imo Election Guidance-Cast Your Vote Freely, Ohanaeze Remains Non-Partisanship....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has advised the citizens of Imo to freely choose any candidate in the upcoming governorship election on Saturday, November 11. Chief Iwuanyanwu emphasized that Ohanaeze Ndigbo is a non-partisan organization, devoid of any preferred candidate or political affiliation.

Addressing the media in Owerri, Chief Iwuanyanwu urged the people to reject the sit-at-home directive issued by Simon Ekpa, who is comfortably situated in Finland, issuing orders. He emphasized that Ohanaeze Ndigbo is open to negotiation for peace, even with those expressing grievances.

Cautions against potential violence during the election, Chief Iwuanyanwu highlighted the peaceful nature of the Igbo people, stating that the reported plans for violence are contrary to the culture and tradition of the Igbo community. He vehemently opposed the idea of commanding fellow Igbo to harm one another.

Despite receiving numerous threats to his life due to his advocacy for the welfare of Ndigbo, Chief Iwuanyanwu expressed indifference, stating that at over 80 years old, he has nothing to lose.

Dismissing circulating reports, he refuted claims that Governor Hope Uzodimma had met with President Bola Tinubu to hinder the release of detained IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Chief Iwuanyanwu clarified that he had the mandate to contact President Bola Tinubu for Kanu’s release and had the support of Southeast governors in this endeavor. He labeled the reports as baseless and urged those responsible to apologize to Governor Uzodimma, emphasizing the collective desire for peace in Igboland over bloodshed.
