The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has successfully processed more than 2.5 million National Identification Number (NIN) modification requests, as stated by the NIMC’s acting Director General, Engineer Abisoye Coker-Odusote. This accomplishment aligns with the ongoing efforts to improve identity management services in the country. In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, she emphasized NIMC’s dedication to ensuring that all Nigerians have access to secure and universally recognized identity documentation.
She further mentioned that NIMC’s dedicated teams have been diligently addressing these backlogs and will continue their efforts to provide citizens with a smoother experience when obtaining their NINs. The NIMC DG acknowledged the challenges many Nigerians faced in the past and expressed gratitude for their patience during this period.
Regarding communication, she highlighted NIMC’s commitment to establishing an effective communication system for handling complaints and resolving issues promptly. The agency also emphasized its investment in world-class infrastructure to enhance services for the Nigerian population, recognizing the importance of a robust and modernized infrastructure for efficient and reliable service delivery.
