According to Afolabi, the state Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Olatunde Fayemi, revealed that Adeniyi was using her position at an orphanage to accumulate illegal wealth. The orphanage management accused her of wrongfully accepting over N1 million in donations intended for the care of the children and stealing property from the home.

Further investigation revealed that Adeniyi had been engaged in these activities for more than nine months before being apprehended.

Oloko was alleged to have defrauded a man of N1 million in Ikere-Ekiti, while Muniru, a scavenger, was accused of stealing over N200,000 from a woman in Ado-Ekiti. Muniru allegedly made off with a bag containing the cash after the woman dropped it while trying to open her compound’s entrance door. He was apprehended following a chase and a search of the nearby area by members of the Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU).
