Just In: Tinubu’s Stand On Presidential Yacht Aligned With Obasanjo And Jonathan....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Ima Niboro, the former spokesperson for ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has refuted a 2010 report that outlined how his former boss declined the offer of a presidential yacht from the navy and instead instructed the funds to be utilized for upgrading the aging naval fleet.
In a statement, Niboro emphasized that this report, originally published by Daily Trust 13 years ago, should not be used to draw comparisons between Goodluck Jonathan and President Bola Tinubu.
He clarified that the issue of the presidential yacht has a history dating back to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, during which he also rejected it and directed the navy to convert it into a specialized gunboat.
Niboro further explained that under Jonathan’s leadership, the matter resurfaced, and the president likewise declined the offer, instructing the navy to request a budget virement of N3.3 billion from the National Assembly to refurbish its fleet.
He noted that President Tinubu has continued this tradition by rejecting the proposed presidential yacht.
Niboro emphasized that there is no basis for comparing Tinubu and Jonathan on this issue because, like their predecessors, both leaders rejected the presidential yacht.
“It is high time we urged the naval authorities to cease raising the issue of the presidential yacht, which has repeatedly caused embarrassment to successive presidents. First, it was Jonathan, and I recall the tremendous effort we made to distance the president from it 13 years ago. Now, the current president’s media team is once again working vigorously to disassociate him from this issue. It is essential for someone within the navy to address the recurring problem of Presidential Yachts that no president desires, yet it continues to resurface and cause embarrassment to successive administrations,” Niboro expressed.
