Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has successfully inked a strategic partnership with the African Export-Import Bank and Access Bank to fund long-term infrastructure initiatives in the region. The agreement was formalized during the Africaribbean Trade and Investment Forum 2023 held in Guyana.

Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted several pivotal projects, including the Fourth Mainland Bridge, the Omu Creek Project, and the second phase of the LRMT Blue Line, extending from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko. He emphasized his administration’s unwavering commitment to shaping a brighter future for Lagos.

Taking to his social media handle, @jidesanwoolu, the governor announced, “It was a significant moment in Guyana at the Africaribbean Trade and Investment Forum 2023 as we’ve secured a partnership with the African Export-Import Bank and Access Bank for a massive investment of $1.352 billion in Lagos.”

He went on to express the significance of this investment, highlighting the confidence displayed by international and local partners in Lagos’s growing economy. The governor also pointed out that this investment would play a crucial role in realizing key infrastructure projects, including the Fourth Mainland Bridge and the LRMT Blue Line expansion.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also shared his optimism about the forthcoming Lekki-Epe International Airport and the Lagos Food Systems and Logistics Hub in Epe, emphasizing their potential to further enhance the state’s economy and benefit future generations. He concluded by stating, “The future of Lagos is brighter than ever.”
