Breaking: NLC Threatens Boycott On Strike Agreement With Federal Government Talks Today....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The scheduled review meeting between the Federal Government and Labour, aimed at assessing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed to avert the October 3 planned strike, faces uncertainty. NLC President Joe Ajaero revealed that if Labour Minister Simon Lalong attends the meeting, his team will boycott the parley.
The meeting was initiated by the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President. In addition, the NLC reaffirmed its impending strike in Imo State over unpaid wages and perceived anti-labour practices.
However, the National Industrial Court in Owerri has issued an extended interim injunction restraining Labour from proceeding with the strike. The court’s Presiding/Admin Judge of the Division, Justice Nelson, has scheduled an adjournment for either a hearing or a report of settlement.
Joe Ajaero clarified that the meeting’s purpose was to review the progress made by the Federal Government in fulfilling the agreed terms, including the resolution of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) crisis. The NLC had accused Minister Lalong of favoring a faction of the NURTW leadership, thus endangering the agreement. Ajaero emphasized that the minister would not be part of any future meetings with Labour and that they no longer rely on him for labor-related resolutions.
Despite the meeting in Abuja, the NLC has urged workers in Imo State to stage a strike on Wednesday to protest alleged unfair treatment by the state government regarding labor issues.
