President Bola Tinubu Receives A Call To Action From APC Chieftain Olawepo-Hashim To Rescue Nigeria From Hardship Now....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to focus on rescuing Nigeria from its economic difficulties in the wake of his recent Supreme Court triumph.

Tinubu’s victory in the February 25, 2023 presidential election was upheld by the Supreme Court, as it dismissed petitions from the Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar and the Labour Party’s Peter Obi, who had contested his emergence as President.

In a press release issued in Abuja on Sunday, Olawepo-Hashim emphasized that “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, having secured a democratic mandate, faces a substantial task ahead. The nation’s economy has been hit hard, with the worst inflation in over two decades and an 80% devaluation of the national currency in just four months of his administration in the unofficial market.

He stressed that “hitting the ground running is insufficient; now he must soar when required.”

Olawepo-Hashim encouraged Atiku and Obi to commit themselves to unifying Nigeria, revitalizing the economy, and enhancing citizens’ well-being.

Recalling his prior advocacy for a government of national unity during the lead-up to the 2023 elections, Olawepo-Hashim said, “Before and after the election, we repeatedly suggested that the post-Buhari Administration should resemble the post-civil war cabinet of General Gowon due to the severe division in the nation and the significant harm to the economy.”

He further noted, “Some individuals had dismissed this idea following the election, arguing that what’s needed is a government of ‘national competence.’ Now, the country anxiously awaits to see that ‘competence’ as the well-being of the people deteriorates.”

Olawepo-Hashim emphasized that crucial roles should not be assigned to mere yes-men and women, as Nigeria’s situation necessitates the most qualified individuals.

He also extended his congratulations to Tinubu for his Supreme Court victory.

Human rights lawyer Frank Tietie has criticized the nomination and subsequent confirmation of Professor Abayomi Fasina, the former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, as a non-career ambassador designate.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

  • Prior to his confirmation, a coalition of civil society organizations protested at the National Assembly on July 7, 2026, opposing Fasina’s nomination due to pending court cases involving allegations of sexual harassment, human rights violations, and victimization.

  • Despite these protests, the Nigerian Senate officially confirmed Fasina’s appointment as a non-career ambassador on Thursday.

Frank Tietie’s Position

  • During an interview on ARISE Television, Tietie argued that nominating an individual with such “baggage” was a mistake, emphasizing that ambassadors represent Nigeria in the same capacity as the President.

  • Tietie stated that the government should have sent the “right signals” by avoiding such controversial appointments, especially given the current state of governance.

  • He argued that even in the absence of a final court judgment, the allegations themselves have “tainted” Fasina’s reputation, and the Senate should have delayed the confirmation until the legal matters were resolved.

  • Tietie also suggested that the National Assembly’s decision overlooks significant social changes regarding how such allegations are now viewed by society.
