Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele Warns Against Portraying Nigeria And Its Judiciary Unjustly....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Opeyemi Bamidele, the Senate Leader and former Chair of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters in the 9th National Assembly, has issued a statement in Abuja advising opposition parties to refrain from pressuring the judiciary into partisan politics through the spread of disinformation and misinformation.
Bamidele, while celebrating President Bola Tinubu’s victory at the Supreme Court, criticized opposition parties for involving the judiciary in partisan politics, prioritizing their own interests over the collective interests of Nigeria and its citizens.
He denounced the unwarranted attempts to tarnish the judiciary’s reputation even before the opposition parties’ petitions and candidates’ cases were decided, emphasizing that the judiciary has consistently stood for the oppressed in the nation.
Bamidele stressed that it is unethical and immoral for political actors or parties to subject the judiciary to media trials instead of respecting the rule of law.
He highlighted that the recent vilification of the judiciary by petitioners, who previously benefited from its independence and neutrality, is unprecedented.
Bamidele mentioned that despite opposition parties claiming to have won the 2023 presidential elections in separate press conferences, they resorted to blackmail when they failed to prove their cases.
He commended the appellate and apex courts for affirming the credibility of the last elections, particularly the use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Bamidele expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court for upholding the truth despite intense intimidation of judicial officers by the petitioners.
He warned all political actors and parties against politicizing the rule of law and the judiciary’s integrity, urging an end to the culture of pushing the judiciary into partisan politics.
Bamidele reaffirmed the judiciary’s role as an impartial arbiter committed to delivering justice without bias related to ethnicity, economics, politics, or religion, emphasizing the need to prevent the unjust portrayal of the judiciary and Nigeria before the international community.
