The United States chapter of the pro-democracy organization National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) has urged the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to investigate Chicago State University (CSU) regarding President Bola Tinubu. The group wants the FBI to look into whether monetary inducements or other privileges were provided to CSU by President Tinubu directly or through third parties.
In a statement signed by its Executive Director, Lloyd Ukwu, and Publicity Secretary, David Adenekan, NADECO requested the FBI to examine the use of a social security number belonging to another individual, which started appearing on documents associated with the Nigerian president.
The group also inquired whether the original owner of the number was aware that her Social Security number was being used by another person and sought clarification on President Tinubu’s true Social Security number and the name it is registered under. They specifically raised questions about the Social Security number “231-06-0595” appearing on transcripts provided as evidence.
NADECO argued that they were concerned about the reputation of Chicago State University and requested the University Accreditation Body and Chicago State University Board of Trustees to investigate the matter. The group also highlighted their commitment to preserving democracy in Nigeria and called on U.S. elected officials to take the issue seriously to protect democracy in Nigeria and across Africa.
