Just In: The Meeting Between National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu And INEC Was Postponed To Friday....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The previously planned meeting between the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday, October 23rd, has been rescheduled. Ribadu was initially set to meet with INEC to address the security situation in Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo states in preparation for the governorship election on November 11th. However, the meeting has been pushed to Friday, according to Sam Olumekun, the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee at INEC.

The reason for the postponement remains unclear but might be linked to Ribadu’s presence at the Supreme Court on Monday. In a separate development, the Supreme Court reserved its judgment in the appeal filed by Atiku Abubakar, the People Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, challenging the Presidential Election Petition Court’s (PEPC) decision that upheld President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25, 2023, presidential election. The judgment reservation came after lawyers representing the parties in the case presented their arguments and final submissions. The Supreme Court judges considered the motion filed by the appellants requesting to supply fresh evidence. Atiku’s legal counsel, Chris Uche (SAN), urged the court to grant the motion, accept fresh evidence, and disqualify Tinubu. In contrast, lawyers representing the respondents – Abubakar Mahmoud, SAN (for INEC), Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN (for Tinubu), and Chief Akin Olujinmi, SAN (for the All Progressives Congress) – urged the court to dismiss both the motion and the appeal, citing a lack of merit. The judges subsequently reserved the judgment for a later date to be communicated to the parties.
