Breaking: N10,000 Allowance For Civil Servants In Ogun State Extended By Governor Abiodun For 6 Months....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In response to the federal government’s removal of fuel subsidy, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has announced a six-month extension of the N10,000 transport allowance for state civil servants. This extension comes after the initial payment, part of several interventions introduced by the state government when fuel deregulation policies were introduced in July, expired at the end of September.
During a meeting with permanent secretaries in the state, Governor Abiodun explained that the allowance extension is aimed at helping the state’s workforce cope with the consequences of the subsidy removal. He described the allowance as a short-term measure designed to provide immediate relief while the government formulates medium and long-term intervention plans for all segments of the state’s population.
In addition to the N10,000 allowance, which also covers pensioners, the state government has approved hazard allowances for health and medical personnel, immediate issuance of promotion letters for 2021 and 2022, payment of leave bonuses for public servants for March and April 2023, and the prompt disbursement of quarterly gratuity payments to pensioners.
Governor Abiodun also highlighted his administration’s pioneering efforts in introducing the E-Mobility and Gas Mobility Programme, which includes Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) enabled buses and electric-powered tricycles and motorcycles (Okada).
