Nigerians Respond On Social Media To Minister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye’s Threat To Sue UN Over Alleged Financial Mismanagement....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

A video of Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, threatening legal action against the United Nations (UN) over alleged financial mismanagement has stirred reactions on social media in Nigeria.

Kennedy-Ohanenye, during a press conference held in Abuja on Monday, asserted that the UN had been receiving funds from donors on behalf of Nigerians. She stated, “I, as the Minister of Women Affairs, demand that all UN agencies provide an account of the funds they’ve received from donors in the name of Nigeria.”

“We require transparency regarding these funds. If the UN fails to provide this account, or at least share the details with Nigerians, an apology is in order. If we do not receive this report by November 15, we will proceed to take legal action.”

The minister’s statement has triggered a range of responses from Nigerians, who have raised questions about her actions.

In response, kwatamaskus said, “This woman is a significant embarrassment. Her lack of knowledge and arrogance is astounding. The government should address this before she brings disgrace to the country.”

adewalefajana remarked, “This Minister needs to be restrained before she causes further trouble for this administration with her often unguarded statements. Quite a few in such a short period.”

Henry_58069 opined, “Madam Minister, do you think a press conference on such a sensitive issue is the best way to handle it? Have you engaged in diplomatic relations and exhausted those channels? Wouldn’t the Ministry of Foreign Affairs be better suited to handle such matters? This seems like a hasty approach.”

Ennexlaw expressed, “This woman consistently makes misguided moves. She appears determined to be remembered for the wrong reasons. Her actions seem ego-driven and vendetta-oriented. Should this be the priority of her ministry?”

maskupnaija questioned, “Are UN agencies/organizations answerable to the Minister or even Nigerian authorities? Can someone help clarify because I don’t understand the uproar.”

Othman_MM93 suggested, “This minister should be briefed on diplomatic privileges, immunities, protocols, and the appropriate channels of communication. It’s natural to want to make an impact in your new role, but it’s also important to take the time to settle in properly.”

‘Foolish And Fraudulent!’ IPOB Fires Back At Edoziem Faction In Brutal Confrontation Over Kanu’s Status!.

Published

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has categorically rejected the alleged suspension and expulsion of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, by a faction under Chika Edoziem, labeling the attempt as unconstitutional and entirely without merit.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to a statement from IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful, the actions taken by Edoziem’s faction are invalid because their tenure and leadership roles within the Directorate of State (DOS) had already been terminated prior to their announcement. IPOB clarified that Nnamdi Kanu, exercising his authority under the movement’s Code of Conduct, had previously dissolved this third DOS administration and established a new, fourth administration led by Chris Nwaọgụ.

Key points from the IPOB statement include:

  • Lack of Authority: Because their administration was already dissolved, Edoziem and his associates held no recognized office and therefore lacked any power to initiate such actions against the Supreme Leader.

  • Exclusive Powers: Under IPOB’s governing laws, the authority to appoint, dismiss, or suspend principal officers rests solely with the Supreme Leader; no subordinate official or collective body has the constitutional power to overrule or remove him.

  • Internal Rebellion: The group characterized the move by the former officials as an act of rebellion, gross insubordination, and an attempt to usurp power, rather than complying with the standard procedures for leadership transitions.

  • Directive to Members: IPOB has instructed its global membership to completely disregard all directives or statements originating from Edoziem or members of the defunct third administration, asserting that they have no legal standing.

  • Media Guidance: The movement has requested that media outlets exercise caution and refrain from treating statements from these individuals as representing the official position of IPOB.

Crisis In The Courts: Judge Lifu Under Fire As ADC Youths Demand Recusal For ‘Judicial Rascality’!.

Published

on

The National Youth Wing of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), alongside Civil Society Organization leaders within the party, has filed a formal petition with the National Judicial Council (NJC) seeking the removal of Justice Peter Lifu from all matters involving the ADC. The petition, dated June 18, 2026, and signed by National Youth Leader Comrade Balarabe Rufai, also requests that the NJC initiate proceedings for Justice Lifu’s dismissal from the judiciary entirely, citing a pattern of “judicial rascality” that threatens the institution’s credibility.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Representing Comrade Rufai during a public reading of the petition at the ADC National Secretariat, Comrade Ibrahim Garba Wala alleged that armed security personnel had barricaded access to the NJC on Thursday, forcing the group to present their grievances to the public.

The core of the ADC’s complaint includes the following allegations:

  • Controversial Ruling: Under suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/2637/2026, Justice Lifu ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the ADC and four other parties, an action the petitioners characterize as a politically motivated attempt to establish a two-party system.

  • Disregard for Legal Precedent: The petitioners claim Justice Lifu proceeded with his ruling despite a binding Court of Appeal order that had stayed proceedings, which they argue constitutes gross misconduct and a violation of the doctrine of stare decisis.

  • Procedural Irregularities: The youth wing accused the bench of ignoring the fact that the plaintiffs, the Incorporated Trustees of the National Forum of Former Legislators, changed their legal personality during the proceedings without a valid court order.

The ADC leaders emphasized that the persistence of these allegations—which mirror complaints previously raised by other political figures like the Chairman of the Boot Party—indicates a systemic loss of public trust in the judiciary. Asserting that the youth will act as the “courtroom of public conscience” when institutional integrity fails, the protesters declared they will continue their demonstrations until the NJC takes disciplinary action against Justice Lifu and removes him from all affairs concerning the ADC.

“Be Careful!” Presidency Fires Warning Shot At Peter Obi Over 2027 Ambitions!.

Published

on

The Presidency has responded to criticism from Peter Obi, the 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), regarding the Tinubu administration’s initiative to provide improved housing for judges. O’tega Ogra, Senior Advisor on Digital/New Media to President Bola Tinubu, took to social media to challenge Obi’s assertion that this welfare program is a strategy to compromise the judicial system.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In his rebuttal, Ogra highlighted an apparent contradiction in Obi’s stance, pointing out that when Obi served as Governor of Anambra State in 2013, he personally inaugurated housing for judges and pledged to expand such projects. Ogra questioned the consistency of Obi’s rhetoric, asking if his actions in 2013 were intended to strengthen the judiciary, while similar efforts by the current administration are now being labeled as corruptive.

Furthermore, Ogra emphasized the following points regarding the initiative:

  • The Presidency argues that it is hypocritical to characterize as “corruption” in Abuja what was framed as “good governance” during Obi’s tenure in Anambra.
