Residents of the Dolphin Estate in Lagos State were left in a state of shock and fear as a colossal python was discovered and killed in one of the homes. According to accounts from one of the estate residents, Olaudah Equiano, the snake was discovered in a property occupied by a young man who was not present at the time. However, the property’s driver, who resided in the boys’ quarter of the building, was a witness to the snake’s presence.
The terrifying incident unfolded when the snake found its way into the boys’ quarters through a weakened ceiling. Frightened by the unexpected guest, the driver quickly contacted the property owner to report the massive snake’s intrusion.
In response to the alarming call, the property owner wasted no time and reached out to a friend in Parkview Estate who possessed a licensed shotgun. The friend arrived promptly and, without hesitation, took down the imposing python, instantly putting an end to the residents’ distress.

A video of the incident was shared on social media by Olaudah, capturing the jubilant atmosphere among the residents after the python was successfully eliminated.
In unrelated wildlife news, Raynus Henry Ebiegberi, a dedicated wildlife conservationist, recently took to social media to share photographs of a shark fish that was caught in Bayelsa State. The extraordinary catch occurred in Akassa community within the Brass Local Government Area of the state. Regrettably, the shark had already succumbed by the time it was discovered.
Ebiegberi noted, “Dead on arrival. This shark is about 46 inches or 116.84 cm long—a truly incredible size.” The location of this remarkable find was Turtle Beach, Akassa clan.
