In a recent development, Phrank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communication to the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has disclosed that his principal lodged a complaint with the BBC regarding a report concerning Bola Tinubu’s certificate.

The BBC’s report, titled “Bola Tinubu Diploma: No Evidence Nigeria’s President Forged College Record,” delves into the controversy surrounding the certificate submitted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The report from the BBC claimed there was no evidence of forgery regarding the president’s certificate.

During an interview on Channels TV, Shaibu addressed the certificate controversy and revealed that the matter has been taken up with the senior management of the BBC. He emphasized that the authors of the report were not BBC employees but more of a fact-checking team. Shaibu also pointed out that one of the reporters had requested and received the certified copy of the document from him.

Furthermore, Shaibu noted that the report alleged that the Atiku media team did not respond when approached, and they have also raised this issue with the top management while submitting a formal petition to the BBC.
