Ladies and gentlemen,
I’ve been closely following the recent identity crisis in the American Court System and the dispute concerning the legitimacy of Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s credentials from Chicago State University. As a Nigerian, this situation deeply troubles me.
Apart from the extensive media coverage this matter has received both at home and abroad, I’ve also had to respond to uncomfortable inquiries about Nigeria’s overall credibility when speaking to various audiences and individuals in different parts of the world where I’ve recently traveled.
To outsiders, the entire issue regarding CSU and the persistent questions surrounding Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s identity have further tarnished Nigeria’s international reputation. Uninformed outsiders now tend to view every Nigerian as a potential fraudster, forger, or identity thief. This controversy is needless, and the associated global embarrassment could have been avoided.
In my view, Chief Bola Tinubu should have spared both the nation and himself from this prolonged embarrassment and undue anxiety. Even at this late stage, he still carries an obligation that only he can fulfill. I call upon him to promptly and personally address the nation and the world from his current high office to clarify matters once and for all.

He should reintroduce himself, providing his name, nationality, place of birth, parentage, details of the primary and secondary schools he attended with dates, the specific universities he attended, and the certificates he obtained. He should also clearly state where and when he completed his National Youth Service. Furthermore, if he has ever changed his name, he should provide this information along with the relevant circumstances. There is no crime in doing so. This straightforward task should take just a few minutes and does not require affidavits, lengthy legal processes, spokespersons, agents, or proxies. Only Chief Bola Tinubu himself, through a direct personal statement, can perform this task.
He must complete this task urgently to put to rest, once and for all, the numerous doubts and valid speculations concerning his true identity. A leader cannot delegate a clear and unambiguous personal statement about their identity to political representatives, public spokespersons, lawyers, or any other individuals, regardless of their status. Matters related to the personal identity of a leader are too sensitive and vital to the functions of their current office to be outsourced or concealed under the guise of officialdom. This issue also pertains to integrity, ethics, values, and adherence to the rule of law, which shape the character of a nation and its people.
In his present role as the leader of a nation of over 200 million Nigerians, his true identity is a matter of significant national and international interest. The people deserve to have absolute certainty about the identity of their leader, which supersedes any rights to personal privacy he may hold. Moreover, the international community has a right to know the true identity of the person they will be dealing with in Nigeria.
By running for the distinguished public office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Bola Tinubu has implicitly agreed to waive the rights of a private citizen in favor of a life characterized by transparent disclosure of his true identity and other matters of public interest. His personal integrity requires no less. The legitimacy of his current office demands no less, and respect for the integrity and reputation of the Nigerian nation within the global community necessitates even more.
It is time to do the right thing.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Mohammad Mokhber disclosed this on Wednesday during an interview on State TV, emphasizing that Tehran does not trust Washington and sees no grounds for dialogue.
According to Mokhber, Iran is prepared to continue the ongoing conflict in the Middle East for as long as necessary.
“We will not enter into any negotiations with the US. The Americans cannot be trusted. We can sustain the war for as long as we choose,” he said.
He added that previous interactions with the United States have left Iran doubtful about any diplomatic efforts.
His remarks come amid heightened tensions following reports that Khamenei was killed in joint US-Israeli strikes.
Meanwhile, Iran has announced plans for a three-day state funeral in honour of the late leader. The official Islamic Republic News Agency reported that members of the public will be allowed to pay their respects at the Imam Khomeini Grand Mosque in Tehran.
“Starting at 10:00 pm (1830 GMT), the faithful will be able to pay their final respects to the body of the martyred guide of the nation at the Imam Khomeini Grand Mosque,” the agency quoted a statement from the Islamic Development Coordination Council as saying.
Khamenei, who was 86 at the time of his death, is expected to be laid to rest in his hometown of Mashhad in northeastern Iran.

“We allowed Nigeria to dominate and push us back into our half. The goals came in quick succession,” he said after the game.
Nigeria, under head coach Justine Madugu, displayed improved intensity and sharper movement in the second half, applying sustained pressure that forced defensive lapses from the hosts.
Babajide played a key role in the turnaround, scoring once and providing an assist in an impressive performance that underscored her growing importance to the team.
“Great reaction from the team today,” the AS Roma Women forward wrote on .
The Super Falcons will now shift their attention to preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
