The Ogun House of Assembly conducted the screening of three additional commissioner-nominees appointed by Governor Dapo Abiodun. Speaker Mr. Olakunle Oluomo oversaw the screening process, which took place at the assembly complex in Abeokuta.
The commissioner-nominees who underwent screening are as follows: Olatunji Odunlami, a former Commissioner in the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development; Mr. Wasiu Isiaka, previously the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Ogun Internally Generated Revenue, and Mrs. Funmi Efuwape, a former Commissioner in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
It is worth noting that the state legislature has already screened and confirmed 17 other commissioner-nominees, awaiting the governor’s swearing-in.
Speaker Oluomo encouraged the screened nominees to uphold a commitment to providing high-quality service and to avoid anything that could hinder the progress and development of the state, should they be confirmed. The lawmakers advised them to introspect and formulate plans and initiatives that would positively impact the state’s residents.
Furthermore, they urged the nominees to intensify their efforts in delivering the benefits of democracy throughout the state.
In response, the nominees expressed their intent to build upon their achievements from their previous term if confirmed. They affirmed their commitment to collaborating with the legislature and other relevant stakeholders to implement policies and programs aimed at advancing the state’s development.
