During Operation HAKORIN DAMISA IV conducted from October 3-9, 2023, by troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), several significant developments occurred, including the arrest of three escaped prisoners and 10 criminal suspects involved in various crimes such as kidnapping, prison breaks, cattle rustling, along with the recovery of arms, ammunition, and illicit drugs.

In the course of this operation, the troops apprehended Chekirmak Tapir, Senmacong Tapir, and Swaroong Tapir at Barkin Ciyawa village in Qua’pan Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State. It was discovered that these suspects had escaped from police custody in Mangu LGA.

Additionally, OPSH thwarted an attempt by unidentified gunmen to attack Washina and Razak villages in Mangu and Barkin Ladi LGAs of Plateau State, engaging the gunmen in a gun battle and forcing them to retreat due to the superior firepower of the troops. During this engagement, one suspect was captured.

Furthermore, the tactical team of Operation SAFE HAVEN apprehended a notorious kidnapper named Buba Ibrahim at Tilden Fulani Village in Toro LGA of Bauchi State and seized a Baretta pistol in the process.

In another operation, Mr. Williams Seaman was arrested in connection with an attack on Mr. Nanbak Ayuba’s residence by gunmen in Shorom village, Bokkos LGA. During the arrest, the troops recovered one locally fabricated pistol, two rounds of ammunition, and one empty 9mm cartridge case.

Additionally, two kidnapped victims were successfully rescued along Road Magama-Angware at Shibiri village in Jos East LGA.
