Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has reaffirmed the strong position of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the ruling party in the state and envisions a lasting tenure for the party’s governance.
He underscored his commitment as the party’s leader in the state to maximize efforts to ensure that both the party and the broader Benue community enjoy the fruits of their collective endeavors that secured his position as the state’s governor.
Furthermore, Governor Alia expressed confidence that his positive actions would enhance his popularity among the people.
These statements were made on Monday, October 10, during his address at the expanded Exco meeting of the party, held at the APC Secretariat in Makurdi.
He also emphasized the need for greater cooperation between the government and the party leadership in the state to enable his administration to fulfill the desires and aspirations of the masses.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Paul Biam, the Governor reassured that his administration would not let the party down, pledging to make the party proud by addressing the yearnings and aspirations of the people. He emphasized the substantial goodwill bestowed upon him and the party by the people of the state, and he expressed his determination not to disappoint them.
He reiterated his commitment to lead the APC to victory consistently.
In response, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Comrade Austin Agada, assured the party’s readiness to support the Governor’s efforts in reshaping the state for greatness. He encouraged all Local Government party chairmen to consider it a duty to attend functions organized by the government or in support of the governor to demonstrate solidarity and support.
The Kwara State Police Command has announced the arrest of a suspected key logistics provider for criminal gangs and bandits operating within the state. Command Strategy: State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, emphasized that the command is shifting its focus to dismantling the supply chains, informants, and collaborators that enable criminal activity. He reaffirmed that the police are determined to deny these groups the resources and support networks they need to operate.
The police have encouraged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help security agencies disrupt these criminal networks and prevent future attacks.

Conversely, the Conference of United Political Parties (CUPP) has issued a demand for President Tinubu’s resignation, citing persistent economic hardship and national insecurity. Supported by the House of Representatives Minority Caucus, acting National Chairman Peter Ameh argued that the current administration has failed to produce the necessary results for good governance. The statement emphasized that leadership is a responsibility rather than a right, suggesting that the honorable path for an official who cannot alleviate citizens’ suffering is to step down.
