The FCT  Minister Nyesom Wike Has Orders The Demolition Of Building Adjacent To Gbajabiamila’s Abuja Home....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has demolished a building adjacent to the Abuja residence of the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila. This action took place without prior notice of demolition and in direct defiance of a court judgment related to the matter. The property, situated within the Cadastral Zone of the Maitama District in Abuja, was razed on September 28, 2023. Sources indicate that this property had been in existence long before Gbajabiamila took up residence in his modern property in 2019 when he served as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Furthermore, it was noted that the topmost floor of the demolished property had a view of Gbajabiamila’s private swimming pool. The property’s owner, an Abuja firm called Shrodder Nigeria Limited, sent a letter to President Bola Tinubu, accusing Wike of acting recklessly and ignoring a valid court order. In a letter dated September 26, the firm, represented by its lawyer Jeph Njikonye (SAN), argued that the demolition occurred without prior notice of any wrongdoing.

The land dispute dates back to October 4, 2022, when the former Minister of the FCT, Muhammad Bello, and officials from the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCTA) entered the property. Following this invasion, Bello ordered the FCDA to seal off the property and deployed a unit of mobile policemen to prevent construction workers from accessing it. This sealing-off took place without any prior notice of wrongdoing.

In response, the property owners filed a legal action against the Minister of the FCT and the FCDA, accusing them of trespass and unlawful occupation. This legal case, identified as suit number FCT/HC/CV/3449/2022, involved Shrodder Nigeria Limited as the first claimant and the Minister of FCT. In his judgment on April 4 of that year, Justice Abubakar Musa of the High Court of the FCT ordered the defendants not to interfere further with the first claimant’s lawful use, peaceful possession, and occupation of the plot. The court deemed the takeover and occupation of the property by the defendants on October 5, 2022, as trespass and instructed them to vacate the property, remove the unlawful seal, and withdraw the mobile policemen.

Interestingly, neither the Minister of the FCT nor the FCDA appealed the court’s judgment. Nevertheless, the FCDA refused to comply with the court’s order to remove the seal on the property. The controversy took a new turn when, on September 19, Wike used bulldozers to demolish the property.

reports that the party made its position known during an emergency press conference in Ilorin on Friday, describing the development as politically motivated and unjust.

He alleged that the move was targeted at dragging Saraki into a case in which, according to him, legal authorities had previously found no evidence linking him to the incident.

Adewara referenced earlier legal opinions from the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation, which reportedly stated that Saraki was not connected to the robbery case.

The party insisted that suspects in the case had already been prosecuted and convicted, with judgments upheld at appellate levels, while the matter is currently before the Supreme Court.

PDP urged Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to focus on governance rather than what it described as attempts to revive old political narratives.

It also called on security agencies to monitor the situation closely, warning that such actions could heighten political tension in the state.

The party further appealed to residents, especially families of victims in Offa, not to allow their pain to be used for political purposes.

reports that Showunmi made the announcement during a courtesy visit to the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) secretariat in Abeokuta on Friday.

He said: “I will be running for governor in the 2027 governorship election. I have come to plead with you to set up a small committee… to determine how we can collaborate to make this happen.”

He also questioned whether Ogun State would experience a “coronation” or a competitive election process, urging stakeholders to allow open political contest.

The PDP chieftain noted that Ogun West’s long-standing exclusion from producing a governor is a legitimate grievance, but stressed that aspirations must still be tested through competition.

He advocated issue-based campaigns ahead of 2027, rejecting “money politics” and challenging aspirants to public debates on governance.

Showunmi maintained that he has no history of violence or political thuggery, insisting the election should be centred on ideas and development plans for the state.

In response, IPAC leadership and other political actors at the event called for collaboration and careful selection of leaders ahead of the 2027 elections.
