Archbishop Ndagoso emphasized that Pope Francis was primarily addressing the concept of inclusion.

He stressed that God does not abandon individuals, even when they are considered sinners. Archbishop Ndagoso highlighted that the Pope’s message centers on the pastoral care of people in such situations. Pope Francis is advocating for the Church to accompany and support those who find themselves in same-sex relationships rather than exclude them.

Archbishop Ndagoso further conveyed that the Church should not abandon individuals facing such situations but should provide pastoral accompaniment. He emphasized the importance of maintaining open communication to help individuals understand God’s intentions for them.

While Pope Francis reiterated that God created marriage as a union between a man and a woman, he emphasized the need for the Church to engage with and support individuals in same-sex relationships in a pastoral manner, with the hope that they may come to a deeper understanding of their faith.

Archbishop Ndagoso advised Nigerians not to let external influences negatively impact their beliefs, emphasizing that the scriptures are clear about the nature of marriage being between a man and a woman.
