TCN Warns Nigerians: Grid Stability Unlikely After Vandalism
TCN Warns Nigerians: Grid Stability Unlikely After Vandalism....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has issued a warning to Nigerians, stating that a stable national grid should not be expected due to the rampant vandalism of its installations.
Taking to its official communication channel, TCN expressed deep concern about the alarming rate at which its infrastructure is being vandalized across the country, emphasizing that this ongoing issue prevents the achievement of a reliable electricity grid.
TCN criticized the general public for allowing vandals to continue their destructive actions against its facilities, underscoring that grid stability and expansion cannot be anticipated under such circumstances.
The statement from TCN read: “The rate of vandalism of TCN’s installations nationwide is becoming alarming. We cannot eat our cake and still have it. We cannot continue to vandalize power infrastructure or turn a blind eye to such activities and expect grid stability and expansion.”
It is worth recalling that in September, reports indicated that a total of 108 power transmission towers were destroyed between January 2022 and September 2023 by vandals. Additionally, in May, nine transmission towers of TCN were vandalized in Ogun State.
These incidents were recorded in various regions, including Benin, Abuja, Lagos, Enugu, and Kano, suggesting a coordinated pattern of destruction that goes beyond mere theft or accidents, potentially involving sabotage, including attacks attributed to Boko Haram in Borno state two years ago.
