Okocha Picks Out Three Contemporary Players Playing In His Expressive Manner....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Austin Jay Jay Okocha, the renowned Nigerian football legend, has asserted that only a trio of players in today’s football exhibit the expressive style of play that characterized his own career.

During his stints at clubs like Eintracht Frankfurt, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bolton, Jay Jay Okocha was celebrated for his flair on the field. He was renowned for his unparalleled dribbling skills, clever tricks, free-kick expertise, and stylish distribution of the ball.

Now retired at the age of 50, Okocha is globally recognized for these qualities, which he believes have become increasingly rare in the modern game.

According to the football pundit, contemporary footballers tend to play with numerous constraints and often lack a distinctive playing identity, a departure from his own active playing days.

The former Chief of the Delta State Football Association asserted that only three players, namely Paris Saint Germain’s Kylian Mbappe, Manchester City’s influential midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, and AC Milan’s dynamic winger Rafael Leao, continue to exhibit the kind of expressive football that he was known for.

Okocha expressed his views in an interview with LiveScore, stating, “Well, I think things have changed. It’s difficult really for players now to express themselves. I had the luxury to have my identity and to try and show what I can do with the ball. But now they are all limited.”

He went on to say, “You can say that maybe (Kylian) Mbappe looks exciting, as well as (Kevin) De Bruyne, (Rafael) Leao from AC Milan as well. Apart from that, it’s hard for me to pick out one that has that freedom to express himself. It’s now about finding the right moment to do it for the team. Not just for the heck of it!”

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has advocated that the Southern region should be permitted to complete a full eight-year presidential tenure before power shifts back to the North in 2031.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Sani clarified that while rotational presidency is not explicitly written into the Nigerian Constitution, upholding it serves the interests of equity, justice, peace, and national unity. He drew comparisons to former President Muhammadu Buhari’s eight years in office (2015–2023), noting that the South did not mount a serious challenge to unseat him during that period.

Key Positions Shared by Shehu Sani:

  • Call for Southern Candidates: Sani urged all political parties to field Southern heavyweights for the 2027 presidential election.

  • Party-Specific Suggestions: He specifically proposed that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) should field Rotimi Amaechi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) should field Peter Obi, and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) should field Seyi Makinde to slug it out for a single four-year term.

  • Atiku’s Constitutional Right: Sani emphasized that his stance does not bar former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from contesting, noting that Atiku possesses the constitutional right to run for any election.

  • The Fate of Rotation: He warned that if Atiku wins in 2027, it would effectively signal the permanent end of rotational presidency in Nigeria and spark bitter resentment from the Southern region.

  • A Smooth Path for 2031: Sani concluded that allowing the South its full eight years would pave the way for an unchallengeable Northern transition by 2031.
