APC Chairman Ganduje Anticipates Ongoing Presidential Election Failures For Kwankwaso....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has made a projection that Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), will persist as an unsuccessful contender in presidential elections. This pronouncement came during a gathering where Ganduje welcomed Haliru Dauda Jika, the NNPP’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 Bauchi state election, as he officially rejoined the APC at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.

Ganduje attributed Kwankwaso’s repeated defeats in presidential elections to his prioritization of personal interests over national interests. He also held Kwankwaso’s inconsistency in party politics responsible for his continuous inability to secure the presidency.

The APC chairman praised Jika’s decision to return to the APC, characterizing it as a step in the right direction. He suggested that Jika must have come to realize that the NNPP, supported by Kwankwasiyya, was characterized by deceit and exploitation.

During Jika’s visit, Ganduje commented, “When I learned that you were coming to discuss the way forward, I knew I was meeting a formidable politician in Senator Jika, who is a well-known figure in Bauchi state. He is returning to a party that is progressive and focused, especially considering where he was coming from.”

Ganduje went on to criticize the Kwankwasiya group, led by the former governor of Kano state, for its previous actions and expressed satisfaction that the original NNPP was reclaiming its position while distancing itself from the Kwankwasiya faction.

He said, “The Kwankwasiya group, led by the former Kano state governor, was forced to take an eight-year sabbatical before regaining power in Kano. The leader of Kwankwasiya, known for his distinctive red cap, seems to prefer being a leader in a challenging situation rather than a follower in a favorable one. He has a history of switching parties, first in PDP and then returning to APC when it was established during the merger of nPDP and legacy parties to form the APC.”

Ganduje added, “Instead of remaining in the APC due to his ambition, he decided to leave after failing to secure the presidential ticket, returning to the PDP briefly, and subsequently contesting presidential elections independently, leading to two defeats. He is a perennial presidential candidate and is destined to continue as a perpetual underachiever. He holds himself in high regard. I am pleased that you have left the red cap behind; it is a sensible decision you have made.”

Furthermore, the APC chairman promised inclusivity for the returning members in the state’s party activities, as part of ongoing efforts to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 elections. He also expressed regret over the party’s performance in the recent general elections in the state.

As a symbolic gesture, the national chairman replaced the red cap, typically worn by the Kwankwasiya group, with President Bola Tinubu’s unbroken chain insignia cap to welcome Jika and his group into the APC.

In his remarks to the press following the event, the former NNPP candidate stated that his return to the APC was driven by the wishes of his numerous supporters in Bauchi state. He clarified, “My decision to leave the NNPP for the APC has no connection with the NNPP presidential candidate. I have no issues with Kwankwaso. The interests of Bauchi State influenced my return to the APC.” Additionally, he acknowledged that Vice President Kashim Shettima and the First Lady, Remi Tinubu, played a role in his decision to rejoin the APC and pledged his loyalty to the party, vowing to ensure its victory in both the state and federal levels come 2027.
