The All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a counterattack against Phrank Shaibu, a media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, for his allegation that President Bola Tinubu has covertly reintroduced fuel subsidy.
Disputing Shaibu’s claims, the APC clarified that the government’s recent interventions were aimed at achieving a degree of price stability and predictability, not a reinstatement of the previous fuel subsidy system.
Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary, criticized Shaibu’s assertions as “fake news” and an attempt to undermine President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Morka emphasized that the government’s actions do not constitute a return to the previous fuel subsidy model and accused Shaibu of making misleading statements based on his lack of understanding of economic development and governance.
The APC also defended President Tinubu’s appointments, highlighting the swift restructuring of the security architecture and the creation of key ministries to reinvigorate the economy.
The statement concluded by addressing other issues, including the lifting of the visa ban on Nigerians by the United Arab Emirates and the proposed meeting with President Joe Biden.
