Breaking: African Dictators Accused Of Abusing Military Pacts To Suppress Democracy....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Researchers at the renowned policy think-tank, Nextier, have raised concerns about military coups in Africa leading to the emergence of dictators who exploit adhoc regional military pacts and alliances to undermine democracy and consolidate their power.
According to the researchers, the recent ‘G5 Sahel’ military pact, established by leaders who came to power through coups in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger Republic, has demonstrated potential loopholes for abuse. They argue that such military coalitions, originally created for counter-insurgency efforts, can be used to subvert democracy.
The scholars warned that international support or endorsement of such military coalitions could further undermine democracy in the region. They expressed concern that these coalitions might prioritize military solutions over democratic processes.

The G5 Sahel Joint Force (FC-G5S), launched in February 2017, aimed to address security and development challenges in the Sahel region. However, the researchers noted that coups and counter-coups have become widespread in G5 Sahel countries, casting doubt on the coalitions’ commitment to democracy.
Furthermore, all G5 Sahel member states except Mauritania are currently under military rule, highlighting the discrepancy between their stated objectives and their actions.
The researchers called on the international community and regional organizations to condition their support for counter-insurgency initiatives on the respect for democratic principles. They also recommended incorporating governance reforms and human development into counter-insurgency frameworks and regularly reviewing the implementation of these frameworks by ad hoc coalitions.
Additionally, they urged the international community to restrict the use of international military bases by regimes in G5 Sahel countries to prevent the subversion of democracy.
