“We urgently require government assistance. We cannot simply stand by while our fellow women perish due to issues that should be preventable,” she declared. “Every human being comes into existence through our wombs, and we are taking this stand to pray for our nation, pleading with God to take control.”
As they implored God to grant them a government genuinely concerned for the welfare of the people, they emphasized the necessity of leaders who possess empathy and commitment to their citizens. They expressed discontent over leaders whose children reside abroad and lack a connection to the people they govern.
Another member of the group, referred to as Iya Risikat (a pseudonym), lamented the unbearable conditions prevailing in the country. She pointed out that since the resumption of schools, many children had been unable to return, not solely due to school fees but also because numerous households couldn’t afford to provide meals for their kids.
