Plateau State Governorship Election Tribunal Upholds Caleb Mutfwang’s Victory, Dismissing APC Petition
Plateau State Governorship Election Tribunal Upholds Caleb Mutfwang’s Victory, Dismissing APC Petition....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a decision announced on Thursday, the Plateau State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, located in Jos, the state capital, confirmed the election of Caleb Mutfwang from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the Governor of Plateau State. The tribunal also rejected the petition lodged by Nentawe Goshwe of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Nentawe Goshwe had approached the Tribunal to contest the declaration of Mutfwang as the Governor of Plateau State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The APC candidate alleged that Mutfwang was ineligible to run for office at the time of the election because he had not received a valid nomination and sponsorship from his party (PDP), which, according to him, lacked structure during the election.
However, the tribunal, in its judgment delivered on Friday, dismissed the petition on the grounds of lacking merit.

YouTube Panic Unmasked: Kunle Afolayan Slams Creators Rushing Online And Predicts Massive Dollar Crash.
Renowned Nigerian filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has weighed in on the increasing trend of Nollywood producers utilizing YouTube as a primary streaming platform, arguing it is a temporary and reactive measure driven by Nigeria’s current economic climate. In an interview on the Nidacity Podcast with former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun, Afolayan contended that filmmakers are “rushing to YouTube because of the dollar exchange rate,” rather than strategic long-term planning.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
While acknowledging YouTube as an accessible and flexible “starting point” for beginners or those lacking the leverage to access major platforms like Netflix or Prime Video, Afolayan was critical of viewing it as a legitimate long-term alternative to premium streaming services. He stated clearly, “YouTube can never give you what Netflix and Prime would give you.”
Afolayan provided a stark economic breakdown of the trend, suggesting that profitability on YouTube is currently inflated by the weak naira. He explained that with the exchange rate at approximately ₦1,400 to $1, securing 1 million views translates to a significant income of about $10,000. However, he predicted a mass exodus from the platform if the currency stabilizes. “If the dollar falls to ₦200, everyone will run away from YouTube,” Afolayan stated.
Concluding his remarks, the filmmaker emphasized that while he understands the current economic necessity for many producers, he ultimately hopes for a stronger naira, saying, “I pray the dollar-to-naira exchange rate comes down.”

Solar Revolution: SDP’s Adebayo Drops Blockbuster 2027 Pledge To Power Every Nigerian Roof With Free Sunlight.
Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo has stated that Nigeria can break its reliance on the national grid if he is elected in 2027. Speaking on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ on Tuesday, Adebayo pledged to install between 11 and 15 kilowatts of solar power on every rooftop nationwide within his first 11 months in office.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Adebayo argued that the country has wasted excessive time and funds attempting to expand traditional electricity infrastructure, particularly in rural areas, rather than adopting decentralized energy systems. Instead of relying on costly 33 kVA lines for rural electrification, he proposed shifting toward rooftop solar as a practical alternative.
He emphasized that Nigeria should prioritize manufacturing solar panels locally while training citizens to handle installation and maintenance. Highlighting his long-standing advocacy for renewable energy, Adebayo recalled giving similar advice to the federal government in 2001 during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, when he urged officials to partner with China or India to establish local solar panel factories.
Regarding financing, Adebayo asserted that the project could be fully funded using existing resources at the grassroots level, claiming that funds are readily available within local government allocations. He concluded that embracing localized solar production would not only liberate Nigerians from national grid vulnerabilities but also generate substantial employment opportunities.

Total Darkness: Kainji-Birnin Kebbi Power Line Tower Collapses, Plunging Millions Into Sudden Blackout
A severe rainstorm and heavy winds have caused the collapse of a major transmission tower along the Kainji-Birnin Kebbi corridor, disrupting bulk electricity transmission. According to a statement issued by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, the incident impacted the 330kV Kainji-Birnin Kebbi transmission line (designated as 2KNJ-BRK1) and prompted the company to declare force majeure.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The disruption began when the line tripped at approximately 10:44 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2026. Although an initial attempt to restore power at 11:07 p.m. caused the line to trip a second time, subsequent inspections by linesmen from the Birnin Kebbi Sub-Region revealed that Tower T367 had collapsed due to local rainstorms and heavy winds.
In response to the natural disaster, TCN has mobilized arrangements to transport personnel, equipment, and materials to the site to rebuild the tower and restore normal operations. Meanwhile, the company has successfully maintained power delivery to Sokoto via an alternative route, utilizing the 132kV Zaria-Funtua-Gusau transmission line through the Kaduna-Mando axis to keep electricity flowing.
TCN has apologized to stakeholders and electricity consumers for the inconvenience, assuring the public that repair work is underway to resume full transmission along the corridor as quickly as possible.
