On Wednesday, a multitude of protesters assembled at the Oyo State Government Secretariat in Ibadan, fervently seeking justice for the late Nigerian artist, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad.
In a display of unity, hundreds of protesters showcased Mohbad’s images and posters, passionately chanting the slogan #justiceforMohbad, their resounding calls reverberating through the streets.

These protests marked the third consecutive day of sustained demonstrations, underscoring the unwavering determination of Nigerian youth to demand justice for the artist who tragically passed away under controversial circumstances.
During the protests, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, unexpectedly encountered the demonstrators on his way to the office. Touched by their cause, he joined them in their march to the State secretariat.
Within the Secretariat’s premises, the Speaker addressed the protesters, acknowledging their concerns and assuring them that the government would take the matter seriously.
Furthermore, the demonstrators intensified their call for authorities to hold Singer Naira Marley, a prominent figure in the music industry, accountable if he was indeed linked to the alleged mistreatment of Mohbad before his untimely demise.
Their plea for transparency and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death resonated strongly with those who believe that no one, regardless of their status, should be exempt from the rule of law.

The Pharaohs have been drawn in Group G, where they will begin their campaign against Belgium on June 15, followed by matches against New Zealand and Iran.
The squad also includes goalkeepers Mohamed El Shenawy and Mostafa Shobeir, along with experienced midfielders Mahmoud Trezeguet and Emam Ashour, as Egypt prepare for the expanded 48-team World Cup across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
