President Tinubu recently engaged in high-level talks with President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This diplomatic engagement led to the uplifting of the visa ban imposed on Nigeria and 19 other African countries by the UAE in October 2022, with potential resumption of flights by major airlines like Etihad and Emirates.

Addressing Nigerian professionals in Sydney, Australia, during his annual vacation, Deputy Speaker Kalu commended President Tinubu for reestablishing diplomatic ties between Nigeria and the UAE. He expressed joy at the immediate removal of the visa ban, acknowledging the detrimental impact it had on the economy.

Kalu also applauded President Tinubu’s efforts in attracting multinational corporations like Volkswagen Motors back to Nigeria, recognizing the importance of job creation and industrialization. However, he emphasized the parliament’s role in scrutinizing the executive’s actions to prevent any hindrance to the President’s development efforts, highlighting the need for oversight. Kalu praised President Tinubu’s focused and proactive leadership in renewing hope and noted the positive impact of his tenure so far.
